Hey guys! How are you all doing? I’ve just been recently nominated for the #AwesomeBloggerAward by this very supportive blogger, Adena Danvers. She’s really amazing and so sweet and I’m so grateful for this community making us cross paths. Honestly, I didn’t think I’d be nominated for anything anytime soon but here we are. Thank you so much, Adena, for this wonderful opportunity! You should check her out on Instagram, she has a wonderful feed. So, I’ll be answering a few questions.
Q1. Who’s Your Biggest Inspiration
In terms of blogging, New-Lune is my biggest inspiration. I’m an avid reader of her blog posts. She blogs about life in general, make-up/fashion, and helpful blogging tips among other things. She’s really devoted to it and I hope I get there someday too. In terms of people in general, it would be my dad and my best friends. Celebrities would be Emma Watson and Zendaya.
Q2. Favourite place to shop at?
I don’t really buy stuff much so I can’t say.
Q3. Is blogging as easy as it looks? Or is there a lot that goes on behind the scenes?
Tough question. I think it all depends on the blogger and their environment. I’d take me for example. Coming up with things to write about can be hard sometimes and even when I come up with them, there’s this internal war that wages inside of me. I overthink the whole thing, worrying if someone would like it or not or if it’d be even read at all. That’s why I don’t write most times as I just back off. There are other bloggers who write three or more times a week, which is really great but I don’t think it’s really that easy. NewLune wrote a blog post about having schedules/time tables and writing days or week before posting to make things easier, which I think is helpful.
Q4. Which topic do you most like writing about?
Of all the topics I’ve written about here, I think it’s the one relating to books I enjoyed the most.
Q5. Do you have any favorite bloggers?
Yes yes yes. They are:
Q6. What are your main goals for your blog?
To reach a point where writing at least three times a week won’t be hard for me. I’m hoping to be a full time blogger someday, among other things. I can’t say I want my blog to be popular someday but I hope it becomes someone’s favourite.
Q7.What is the best and the worst thing about blogging?
The best thing? Definitely connecting with other bloggers, this community is the sweetest. The worst thing? Going through the rough process of writing, editing, proofreading and looking for a perfect picture or in my case, not having the inspiration or motivation to write. Oh and not having anyone read your blog, it kinda sucks.
Q8. What have you learnt while blogging?
I may complain a lot about not writing or being lazy but one thing I think blogging has taught me is being patient with myself. I know it’s just a phase and most big time bloggers talk about having gone through it. I’m trying not to be so hard on myself and just take things easy. Hopefully, I’d be able to master self-discipline and have schedules and stuff like that.
Q9. How do you edit your photos?
I use lightroom and sometimes, Huji. Then for the dust effects on my photos, I use Nebi-Film. I’m trying to achieve this really vintage look for my photos but I just end up coming up with something else, entirely, that isn’t close to that. I keep trying everyday to get that edit that’s why some of them are brighter or darker or just bleh. My feed is a mess. Please don’t go there.
Q.10 What advice would you give to a new blogger?
The fact that you’ve already thought about it and went ahead to start it means you CAN do it. Don’t compare yourself to any of your favourite big time bloggers, they all started somewhere, just like you are starting. And don’t try to beat yourself up when you can’t think or come up with anything to write about, whatever you feel like writing, just go ahead and write it. It’s your blog after all. Be patient with yourself and enjoy the process.
This was a fun experience, I’ve never been nominated for anything like this before. Thank you so much again, Adena. As part of the rules, I’m supposed to nominate a few bloggers and ask them 10 questions too. So, I nominate;
