Happy World Photography Day Guys!
I haven’t quite written anything much on photography on the blog before but I mentioned it’s one of my interests on my about page. I’ve always loved pictures and the sorts. Photography has always been a part of my life, even if I didn’t realize it back then. My dad had two cameras when I was little, he’d use them to take pictures of us when we were babies. He took as many as he could until the cameras eventually spoiled, I may have been 8 or 9 years old when they did. When he’d print them and wash the films and put the pictures in albums, I’d sneak into my mother’s room (because that’s where they are) and flip through them. It was beautiful, relieving moments I couldn’t recall and watching me and my siblings grow before my eyes. Photographs are wonderful!
A photograph has the ability to capture a place; an experience; an idea; a moment in time. For this reason, it’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words. Photographs can convey a feeling faster than, and sometimes even more effectively than words can. A photograph can make the viewer see the world the way the photographer sees it.World Photography Day
As someone who was once obsessed with Tumblr during her early teenage years, I’d say the platform also fueled my passion for photography and wanting to be a photographer but I didn’t have a camera or a phone back then so I didn’t think much about it again until 2018 when I’d gotten a new android phone. It didn’t take long before I started taking pictures of things and people I saw, I was an amateur and probably still am. I look up to a few photographers who probably don’t know I exist, lol and try to learn from them. I won’t say I’m pretty good yet but I want to be better and I’d keep practicing and hopefully, in due time, I’d get my first DSLR camera.
To celebrate the day, I’d be sharing five of my favourite photos I’d taken earlier this year. I haven’t been very much active in taking photos this year because I’m usually cooped up inside as I don’t go out much. I took some when I was still in school before we were sent home and took some during walks I’d taken during quarantine. They’re not much lol but they’re my favourite. I hope you like them 🙂
200 Followers + WordPress Anniversary
Yesterday, I reached 200 followers on WordPress and also got a notification that it was my fifth anniversary. First of all, I’d like to thank each and everyone of you for following my blog and taking out your time to engage with my posts, never in a million years did I think I’d be here, enjoying it. My anxiety gets the best of me sometimes but I’ve come to realize that I’m safe here because it’s been nothing but kindness from the people I’ve interacted with on this platform.
5 years ago, I joined this platform because I wanted to express myself and talk about things I liked with other people but I deleted my site two years later, much to my anxiety and stuck to reading posts from other blogs instead. I created another one later but yes, I deleted it again lol. This is the third site I’m creating since I’ve been on this platform and it’s probably the longest and the most active I’ve been. I don’t see myself deleting this one in the future. There are a few bloggers here who inspire me to just keep going and I really want to. So, thank you, thank you all so much.
She probably gets this alot because I’ve seen most bloggers acknowledge her in their posts and I’d love to, too. I’d like to thank Pooja for being a huge inspiration to me since I started being active on WordPress. It’s not enough to just thank her, reading her posts and seeing the way she interacts with her readers and other bloggers as well, is endearing and truly inspiring. Thank you so much Pooja for always being an inspiration. If you’re not following or subscribed to her blog, well, I’d like to let you know that you’re really missing out on someone amazing :).
Happy world photography day once again.
